It was a pleasure for Magic Media to attend the USF Gaming Fair on April 3 in Belgrade, Serbia! As a truly global organization, it was the perfect opportunity to spread the Magic Media name even further. Organized by the Faculty of Organizational Sciences at the University of Belgrade, the USF Gaming Fair is an opportunity for students to network with industry professionals like Magic Media, make key contacts, learn from experienced gaming industry representatives, and take the opportunity to apply for jobs and internships.

As part of the overall event, there was a charity gaming tournament held in the days before the fair itself. One of the charity organizations involved in this year’s tournament was Srbi za Srbe, a Serbian group that does fantastic work helping families in need in Serbia and neighboring countries like the Republic of North Macedonia.

The USF Gaming Fair

The key topics at the USF Gaming Fair 2023 were blockchain, gaming in education, and working in the gaming industry. We were delighted for the opportunity to have a Magic Media booth at the event and speak with like-minded industry professionals about these central topics and the eager students in attendance.

It was a pleasure to see such a wide-ranging group of notable gaming industry names in attendance such as Playstudios, Onyx Studio, the Serbian Games Association, and much more. We had several insightful discussions with these distinct groups where we shared ideas, and work-related anecdotes, and revel in the opportunity to speak with fellow enthusiastic gaming industry professionals.

Perhaps the biggest highlight of the USF Gaming Fair was Magic Media’s opportunity to speak with such a large volume of bright students seeking to make their way in the gaming industry. We spoke at the fair on a panel entitled Trends, Opportunities, and Obstacles in the Gaming and IT Industry. This was a great chance to speak about the creative side of the gaming industry, as most other speakers were addressing the topic from a recruitment or business perspective. This generated significant interest in Magic Media, which not only enabled us to have numerous conversations with students but drummed up excitement on social media where attendees commented on how much they learned from us and how Magic Media was a highlight of the fair.

The USF Gaming Fair 2023 was a hugely successful event for Magic Media. This was our official debut appearance at an event of its kind in Serbia, and we couldn’t be happier with how our presence was felt and the wonderful, insightful conversations we had with industry peers and students alike.
